Where Am I?

 WAI Compass

The Purple Valley can seem like a scary place at first, but Where Am I?! will have it feeling like home in just a few days! WAI will get you out and about, traveling in small groups around your new community and getting you involved in the people and places of your new life at Williams. During WAI, you’ll cook dinner for a family in their home around Williamstown and perform a half-day community service project to become a part of the local community. Your small group will road trip to towns around the area, showing you the North Adams arts scene, the beautiful views from the Bennington monument, and the scenic Lake Onota in Pittsfield.  You’ll stop for a Vermonster (if you can handle it!) and enjoy the scenic mountain passes and perhaps a trip up Mount Greylock.

Our leaders are ready to get you involved with the community and group in activities to make sure you have a fantastic road trip with your new friends. At night, you’ll take part in a variety of activities, which in the past have included a bonfire on Stone Hill, a giant Clue game in science quad, dinner in the library, a dance party in a barn, and pizza on Top of the World. By the time you return to your JAs, these strangely colored mountains will feel like home.

WAI MonumentA typical day will keep you busy on the road from 9am-5pm, plus evening activities lasting until around 10pm.
